Kenya begins mourning victims from Nairobi mall attack

After Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta declared an end to the four-day siege of the Westgate Mall by al-Shabab, an al-Qaida-linked terrorist group, Keyan began mourning those killed in the attack Wednesday. Also, al-Shabab is reporting that the Kenyan government assault team had used chemical weapons to end the attack, a claim that Kenyan government spokesman Manoah Esipisu discredited to The Associated Press. Sen. Ted Cruz’s all-nighter


The Washington Post reports that the Texas Republican senator’s fake filibuster to defund Obamacare surpassed the 4 a.m. mark to officially become an all-night session of the Senate. Speaking since Tuesday afternoon, Cruz’s speech mentioned everything from Nazis and “The Little Engine That Could” to “Green Eggs and Ham.” Cruz can speak until noon today, when the Senate is expected to vote on the spending bill, which will continue funding Obamacare, soon after.
