| Engineers have attached tiny new sensors to the shuttle's wings to detect potential damage. Twenty-two temperature sensors on each wing and 65 accelerometers, sensors that can monitor impact to the shuttle, will send readings -- taken 20,000 times per second -- to the crew compartment and to NASA's mission control in Houston. |
