    Djibouti, a tiny country in Northeast Africa, is situated at the gateway to the Suez Canal, one of the world’s busiest shipping routes. While its location is an economic commodity for a country that’s half unemployed, it also puts it at the center of a multinational fight against pirates in Somalia and terrorist groups.     In other news Wednesday, Israel warned that Iran is preparing to send two warships to Syria via the Suez Canal. The Egyptian body that oversees the canal denied the claim. The GOP-led House moved ahead with a bill eliminating $61 billion from this fiscal year’s government spending despite a veto threat from President Obama. Continue reading
