    Russia imposed a year-long ban on most Western food imports in retaliation for American and European sanctions leveled in response to Russia’s support of rebels in eastern Ukraine. President Obama replied that the Kremlin is hurting its own people. Meanwhile, according to NATO, 20,000 Russian troops have massed near the Ukraine border.
