The Pentagon : A Year Later

President Bush and Secretary Rumsfeld at the PentagonPentagon Ceremony Marks Anniversary, War on Terrorism
Update: On the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, the Pentagon began a one-hour ceremony at 9:30 am at the Phoenix Project site, the area damaged in the attack.

During the ceremony, a flag was unfurled at the site where American Airlines Flight 77 made impact. One hundred children from D.C.-area schools — classmates of children aboard Flight 77 — recited the Pledge of Allegiance with President Bush.

A moment of silence was observed at 9:37 am, the time the airliner hit the west side of the Pentagon, claiming 184 victims' lives. (9/11/02)
