Stop the Beach Renourishment v. Florida Department of Environmental Protection involves Florida’s decision to expand eroded beaches in the panhandle region by adding sand — and making a public beach. But owners of the pricey beachfront property objected — arguing that the beach renewal project prevented them from having private access to the water.

The Stop the Beach petition against the state law that made the project possible reached the Florida Supreme Court and then the U.S. Supreme Court. Marcia was at the court today for the oral arguments.
