Gwen Ifill Discusses Corruption Charges Against Illinois Gov. Blagojevich
NewsHour senior correspondent Gwen Ifill spoke about the corruption charges surrounding Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, including the accusation that he tried to auction off the Senate seat formerly held by President-elect Barack Obama.
Ifill said the future of the junior Senate seat from Illinois is unclear.
"He's empowered by the state constitution as being the only person who can fill that spot, but it's not clear that he anymore has the credibility to put someone in the Senate seat that anyone is bound to respect or that the Senate is bound to seat," Ifill said.
