Official Results: Matheson Defeats Swallow to Win UT 2 Seat
Incumbent Rep. Jim Matheson (D) won a narrow victory over challenger John Swallow (R) to retain his Utah 2nd District U.S. House seat, according to results published by the state elections office. Matheson earned 49.4 percent of the vote to Swallow's 48.7 percent.

The deluge that was expected, however, has not materialized and incumbent Democrat Jim Matheson seems to be pulling away from his challenger, Republican John Swallow.
