The Democratic Field

The 2004 Democratic presidential candidates face a crowded field and a "frontloaded" primary schedule. Due to a number of early elections in key states, a clear winner could emerge by mid-March.

The party's official candidate for president will be nominated at the Democratic National Convention, July 26 -29, in Boston.
