Hill Beats Incumbent Sodrel in Indiana Race 
Former Democratic Rep. Baron Hill won Indiana's 9th District seat held by Republican
Rep. Mike Sodrel in one of the most contested House races in the nation, according
to an unofficial tally. With about two-thirds of the district's precincts reporting,
Hill had 70,878 votes to Sodrel's 68,588, reported the Associated Press.

In Indiana's rural 9th District, Republican Rep. Mike Sodrel knows he faces strong
anti-incumbent sentiments this fall and is campaigning hard to keep his seat.
His opponent Baron Hill, who served three terms before Sodrel defeated him in
2004, is fighting to win back his seat.
