Defeats Ford in Tennessee Race

Despite
a bruising Republican primary and an onslaught of Democratic
heavyweights campaigning for his opponent, former Chattanooga
Mayor Bob Corker edged to victory Tuesday in the race for
Tennessee Senate. Corker, 54, replaces retiring fellow Republican,
Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist.
