Clinton Picks Up Mayor Endorsements, Returns to Arkansas

New York Democratic Sen. Hillary Clinton traveled to Los Angeles Friday night to address the 75th U.S. Conference of Mayors meeting, and came away with 34 endorsements from current and former California mayors.
Saturday, it was back to Little Rock for the Arkansas Jefferson-Jackson dinner, where she picked up several more endorsements from state officials, including Attorney General Dustin McDaniel and U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Ark., who called her “one of Arkansas’ favorite daughters.”
Clinton reminisced to the crowd of 4,000: “I don’t remember it being so ideological and so partisan. I just remember people wanting to achieve things together and wanting to make a difference in the lives of people. That’s the way Arkansas worked best, and that’s the way America will work best, because those are the attitudes we bring to our politics.” Via a campaign press release she added, “I have such fond memories of my three decades in Arkansas. … I’m delighted to be back visiting with so many old friends and talking about how we can move America forward.” Arkansas is one of several states that moved up its primary date to Feb. 5. Clinton spent Monday fund raising in Chicago and then New York City, where she plans to stay through Tuesday evening to participate in “A Conversation with Warren Buffet” at the Sheraton Hotel. Clinton expects to speak to the Center for New American Security in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, as does Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-Neb.
Clinton plans to participate Thursday in the All American Presidential Forum on PBS. Tavis Smiley will moderate the debate from Howard University in Washington, D.C. Questions will be posed by a panel of three journalists of color: Michel Martin of National Public Radio, Ruben Navarrette Jr., nationally syndicated columnist and member of the editorial board of the San Diego Union-Tribune, and DeWayne Wichham, syndicated columnist for USA Today and the Gannett News Service. The debate can be seen live on PBS at 9 p.m. ET or streamed online.
