Grand Prize: A Visit from Ron Paul
Email This

Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, has a long way to go before he can break into the GOP field as a top contender, but an online search revealing numerous pro-Paul blogs would have you believe he was King of the Internet.

In an apparent effort to link his online grassroots support to fund-raising events, the campaign rolled out a contest that awards the Ron Paul Meetup group that raises the most money with a visit from Paul himself. The contest is “in fitting with Ron Paul’s message of freedom and the advantages of competition,” according to the contest Web site.

The two groups with the highest campaign donations by midnight Aug. 31 will win the Paul appearance. He also plans to speak at an event organized by the Meetup group.

The runners up will have to settle for a conference call from Paul, as well as autographed pictures and books from the congressman. The campaign Web site notes mysteriously that it reserves the right to award any other prizes it deems necessary.

The Manhattan Ron Paul group currently leads the pack, according to the leaderboard, followed by a string of groups from across the country.

I really admire the way Mrs. Woodruff Conducted the interview. Very objective and without bias. Illuminating, to say the least.
