Dodd Signs Pledge to Early Voting States

Sen. Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., moved to increase his support in early primary voting states by signing a pledge from the Democratic Parties of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada, honoring their status.
“In this year, where the national media focus seems to be on celebrity and bank accounts, the role of these states is more important than ever. I am committed to the DNC nominating calendar and preserving the first in the nation status of Iowa and New Hampshire,” he said. The senator made campaign stops in Iowa City, Des Moines and Council Bluffs in Iowa, Manchester, N.H., and Reno and Las Vegas, Nev., over the Labor Day weekend.
Dodd attended a barbeque in Somersworth, N.H., delivering an hour-long speech to more than 100 residents. He focused his remarks on Iraq, but touched on an array of issues during an informal question and answer session.
He also took aim at those who say the race has already been decided, telling the crowd, “This election is not a slam dunk.”
