Kucinich Has Colbert in his Pocket
Email This

A few weeks ago, Stephen Colbert, host of Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report,” extended a challenge to Ohio Congressman and Democratic presidential hopeful Dennis Kucinich to empty his suit pockets, which have been rumored to hold everything from used tea bags to baseball cards.

“This man either has a large number of pockets of an exceptionally deep innie,” Colbert said on his show.

Not one to shy away from a challenge, Kucinich accepted the invitation - and after Colbert “summoned” Kucinich by saying “Kucinich” three times into a mirror, the Congressman emptied his pockets on the show Monday.

So what does Kucinich keep?
An AFL-CIO, cinematographers union card
A Teamsters union card
A Lou Boudreaux baseball card
A shiny rock he found
A tea bag
A tea cup
Hot water
A spoon
Sugar (in his front jacket pocket)
A pocket version of the Magna Carta
A pocket Rosetta stone
Sen. Barack Obama’s American flag pin

Colbert asked Kucinich about his pocket-sized constitution, inquiring if he shrank it down himself.
“No, no … George Bush already did that,” Kucinich replied.

Last, Kucinich pulled out a miniature Stephen Colbert, who gleefully declared, “Vote for Dennis Kucinich!”

In closing, Colbert thanked Kucinich, but told him, “Congressman, that was absurd.”

“I agree, Stephen. But as Miguel de Unamuno once said, ‘Only he who attempts the absurd is capable of achieving the impossible,’” Kucinich answered, using a quote he also carries with him.

Outside of his TV appearances, Kucinich spent last weekend campaigning in New Hampshire, and this weekend, he’ll head back the West Coast to reach voters in California.

Does he carry Barack Obama's finger in his pocket. We all know he had to kill him to get his american flag pin.
