Kucinich Talks About Love, Picks up a Hollywood Endorsement

Democratic Ohio Rep. Dennis Kucinich’s and his wife, Elizabeth, shared the spotlight and some stories about their personal lives in a recent feature by the Washington Post.
The article highlights Kucinich’s personal victories rather than his political shortcomings.
“Dennis Kucinich wears the look of a man who’s just won the sweepstakes. He says a colleague from the House told him it didn’t matter how he did in the presidential race because he’d already won,” the Post reports. “He’d won Elizabeth.” Despite the eclipsing popularity of his spouse, Kucinich was able to garner some attention for himself this week when he picked up a high-profile endorsement from actor and activist Sean Penn.
Penn delivered a speech Friday in San Francisco, railing against the Bush administration and the current Democratic front-runners.
“I found the (recent Democratic) debate infuriating, nearly an argument for fascism with few exceptions, key among them Dennis Kucinich,” Penn said, according to Power Line News.
Penn’s speech was sponsored by the San Francisco State College Democrats and paid for by the Kucinich campaign.
The congressman spent much of last week campaigning in the Golden State, with Elizabeth speaking Thursday at UCLA and Kucinich meeting with Latino leaders in Los Angeles.
