Rep. Ron Paul had his best showing this primary season — second place — in Saturday’s lightly contested Republican primary in Nevada, surpassing pseudo-rival former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani for the fourth time in six races.
Paul capped off the holiday weekend by netting more than $1.85 million Monday in the third “money bomb” day organized by supporters. The day coincided with the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Paul has raised $3.36 million so far in the first quarter of 2008.
Paul also picked up endorsements from former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson, CNBC and National Review Online commentator Donald Luskin and pro-life activist Norma McCorvey, the “Jane Roe” from the landmark Roe v. Wade Supreme Court abortion ruling.
The Online NewsHour recently posted a Web-only video from a recent reporting trip on the Ron Paul Blimp. The clip includes interviews with several Paul supporters who speak about what attracted them to his unique campaign:
Click here for an earlier Online NewsHour Web-only interview with Trevor Lyman, the mastermind behind the blimp.
The blimp is currently flying down the eastern coast of Florida on its way to Boca Raton, where the Republican candidates will debate Thursday ahead of the state’s Jan. 29 primary. Although the blimp has enough money to stay aloft through the evening of the debate, organizers need more than $100,000 to fly it through Super Tuesday on Feb 5.
Wow, I thought this was just a fly-around-locally kind of thing when I first heard about it (I haven't been following the story very closely). I suppose bringing the blimp to the debates is a rockin' way to pick up support.
Could it be that, with all the other GOP's poor finances and the continuing market decline, Ron Paul could be the only GOP-er left standing?

(is this post trite?)
What happened to Louisiana?
Nothing on this caucus?
Could it be that they wont talk about it till after super Tuesday?
Go Ron Paul in 2008
