Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., will win the Rhode Island primary, the Associated Press and other news organizations projected. It marks her first victory since Super Tuesday and ends Illinois Sen. Barack Obama’s winning streak at 12 contests.

Turnout for the primary may be the largest in the state’s history, according to the Providence Journal.
“The state also has a large number of elderly and blue-collar voters, and is the most Catholic state in the nation,” according to the AP. “Those groups have supported Clinton in many other states.” With a total of 21 delegates up for grabs, Clinton won with roughly 53 percent of the vote, according to the AP. Clinton had been heavily favored to win here.
