Georgia Delegates Optimistic About Turning a Red State Blue

By Anna Shoup on August 26, 2008

Georgia Democratic Party Chair Jane Kidd welcomed her state’s delegation to the Democratic National Convention, expressing confidence that the Democrats can gain seats statewide and deliver the Peach State to Sen. Barack Obama.

Kidd spoke with Ray Suarez about the diverse makeup of the Georgia delegation, which she said is a motivated and hard-working group ready to flip the state to the Democratic side again.

“We are in the minority in both houses in the state. So we are trying to gain seats this election cycle,” said Kidd. “And then we want a governor in 2012. It’s a long road back but we’re working on it.”
