Although North Carolina is experiencing coastal rains, voter turnout is still large in urban areas around Raleigh and Charlotte, reported David Huppert, assignment editor for “North Carolina Now” on UNC-TV.
In addition, over 40 percent of registered voters have already cast their ballots, he said, “which is a tremendous historic turnout for this election.”
Huppert also discusses how incumbent Republican Sen. Elizabeth Dole’s negative campaign ads created a groundswell of support for her Democratic challenger Kay Hagan.
