More on This Story:
David Brancaccio interviews actor, comedian, and social critic Steve Harvey. Harvey, who hosts a syndicated radio show called The Steve Harvey Morning Show, gives his take on important issues, including values, religion, and personal responsibility. "It's difficult, man, to just try to do the right thing," he says. "But the right thing is really the best way it's done." Harvey is about to release a new film of a stand-up concert he gave at a four day Evangelical event, where he brought the house down taking on faith, family and relationships.

Steve Harvey from THE STEVE HARVEY SHOW

A native of Cleveland Ohio and the youngest of five children, Steve makes his home in Dallas with his family. He and his wife continue their unending pursuit and commitment to further opportunities in local schools in both cities with their generous contributions to the Steve and Mary L. Harvey Foundation.

One of four black comics featured in director Spike Lee's THE ORIGINAL KINGS OF COMEDY, Harvey was a long-time fixture on SHOWTIME AT THE APOLLO. In the late 1990s he won four NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series for the STEVE HARVEY SHOW. Harvey hit the 2004 silver screens with two movie releases: YOU GOT SERVED and JOHNSON'S FAMILY VACATION re-uniting Steve Harvey and Cedric the Entertainer. Among his many other credits are the television show "STEVE HARVEY'S BIG TIME CHALLENGE" and the film RACING STRIPES.

Steve Harvey stirred the helms of his popular daily morning drive radio show in Los Angeles, California and Dallas, Texas. "The Steve Harvey Morning Show", was on the air five years and throughout its tenure he boasted the ratings with loyal listeners. The radio show is now syndicated across the country. And, a new movie, DON'T TRIP, HE AIN'T THROUGH WITH ME YET, opens in theaters in March 2006.
