The takeover of another country into which Bush and his followers should be cast. That would be the best punishment in the world for them. To have to live in what they have destroyed. Let him use his power there. I am sick to death of the corruption and the lies from washington. The people really do not understand just what kind of power they possess. The government really has nothing. They ony have the money they stold from the people in taxes ect. and what they can steal from us in the future. They stick their noses out there and do things they are not supposed to do but on the other hand, the people are not watching them. Calling their representatives and telling them what they want them to do or not do. It is their Duty as a patriot and an American citizen to watch government so they do not do things they aren't supposed to do. War is about power anymore and elitist taking what they can and controlling what they can. These people are scum ponds and they are not there to make your life easy. Use the power the founding fathers left to you. Don't let them keep getting away with things. The 10 planks of the communist manifesto are operating within the usa right now. One country after another after another. Give those people their countries back. Send bush and the criminals we have in washington to iraq to live. Without weapons and without money. See how well they fare then. The people have voted to end this war but it continues. Why? When did we stop being a government of the people? Poster: Robyn Wolf Comment: War is about killing other people, and that is wrong- one of the 10 commandments is Do not kill. isn't it. To me, life is sacred and other people are my brother and sister. We all have to suffer the consequences of my mistakes in life and somehow, those who start the war and encourage it will 'get their commeupance. I don't call America a Christian nation; if true Christians would refuse to fight and others protest, that might have had an influence. I support the approach of Dennis Kucinich who proposed, bring them home and had a way to pay them anyway. None of us can escape the consequences of our actions. and I put that in the hands of God. May we all be filled with loving kindness and walk with humility on our precious planet Earth. Poster: Richard C. Comment: World War II was neither a ‘good war’ nor a ‘necessary war.’ We did not righteously enter that war because Hitler was sending the Jews and others to the gas chambers. Like all wars it was at root a clash between rival economic powers for hegemony, but soon disguised with all manner of social and moral trappings. To say that some wars on a cost-benefit scale are necessary wars and that the battlefield bonding between frightened young men and women is the important product of the conflict (as though it could not have happened in other ways) is to provide easy rationale for all wars to come. Surely, Now could have made a more insightful challenge to Burn’s further solidification of the WWII mythology. Hitler didn't cause WW2, it was caused by the the nationalism of Germany. When the majority of individuals say no to the politicians who stir up fear and wage war, then wars will end. You can't wait for the next guy to do it. As John Lennon said, War is over, if you want it. as he also said, Imagine there's no countries--It isn't hard to do.I honor the peacemakers, not the warriors. Stop glorifying and justifying war. Killing under the cloak of war is murder. Albert Einstein Blessed are the peacemakers. Jesus of Nazareth Poster: Karen Comment: My thoughts on the war haven't changed since they first started talking about going into Iraq, but I am much more frustrated at the people who think you should follow the Commander-in-chief regardless of what he is doing to the soldiers or their families. Poster: James Davis Comment: Only when attacked or to avoid proven imminent attack. Never for imperialistic aims, for gaining resources or wealth, or to impose our values on others. Poster: Sam Conant Comment: An honorable nation and people building and sustaining a competent defensive armed force working closely with the American people and our Congress is an effective deterrent to war. A nation which chooses to arm itself for offense and attack and then follows through with that form of commitment is less than honorable in my opinion. Poster: James Bird Comment: We should only go to war in defense of this nation and the Bill of Rights. |
