James A. Haught |

 |
Currently the editor of the CHARLESTON GAZETTE in West Virginia, Mr. Haught has spent more than 50 years as an investigative journalist, columnist, and author. A self-proclaimed skeptic and agnostic, Haught writes and lectures frequently on religious topics, particularly injustices and atrocities committed in the name of religion, and the scientific debunking of supernatural claims.
He is the author of five books, including HOLY HORRORS: AN ILLUSTRATED HISTORY OF RELIGIOUS MURDER AND MADNESS; HOLY HATRED: RELIGIOUS CONFLICTS OF THE '90s; and 2000 YEARS OF DISBELIEF, a paean to freethinkers, atheists, and religious doubters. Haught also serves as a senior editor at FREE INQUIRY magazine, published by the Council for Secular Humanism.

Michael Lind |

 |
Once a writer and editor for various publications, including HARPER'S, the NEW YORKER, and the NATIONAL INTEREST, Michael Lind now writes for the GLOBALIST. He is a senior fellow at the New America Foundation.
Lind's work has also appeared in the NEW YORK TIMES MAGAZINE and the WASHINGTON POST, and he has been a guest on various political talk shows, including the NEWSHOUR WITH JIM LEHRER.
He is the author of three nonfiction books dealing with political journalism and history, THE NEXT AMERICAN NATION, UP FROM CONSERVATISM, and VIETNAM, all of which received NEW YORK TIMES Notable Book designations.

Nancey Murphy |

Dr. Murphy is a professor of Christian philosophy at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California, and is a leading scholar and frequent lecturer on the relationship between science and religion. Her first book, THEOLOGY IN THE AGE OF SCIENTIFIC REASON, won prizes from both the American Academy of Religion and the Templeton Foundation. She is also co-author with George F.R. Ellis of ON THE MORAL NATURE OF THE UNIVERSE: THEOLOGY, COSMOLOGY, AND ETHICS.
Murphy received a Ph.D. in the philosophy of science from the University of California, Berkeley and a Th.D. from the Graduate Theological Seminary in Berkeley, and is an ordained minister in the Church of the Brethren. She is also a board member of the Center for Theology and the Natural Sciences, and serves on the long-term planning committee for conferences sponsored by the Vatican Observatory.
