Ann McMann
Data Systems Architect - Australia
Home: Detroit, Michigan USA

After graduating from University of Michigan in Mechanical Engineering, she moved to Gloucester, MA to join Cape Ann Whale Watch, an affiliate of the Ocean Alliance,in the spring of 1998. As an intern some of her duties included data collection, photo identification, observing whale behavior, and educating the public. Since the fall of 1998, Anne has continued to stay active with Ocean Alliance.

During the summer of 1999, Anne assisted in the installation of the computer systems on the Odyssey in San Diego, CA. She sailed from San Diego to Monterrey, CA and then south to La Paz, Mexico for the initial launch of the Voyage of the Odyssey.

Anne has rejoined the boat for the Australian leg of the voyage as the Data Systems Architect. With a technical background and strong passion for the marine environment, Anne is excited to rejoin the crew and contribute skills in data management to the R/V Odyssey.
