Emile Bennington arrived on the Odyssey in Darwin as the ship's cook in October, 2001. Born in New Zealand brought up in Perth , Western Australia, Emile has worked as a professional chef for the last ten years . His career has taken him around the globe working in such places as United Kingdom, U.S.A, New Zealand and Australia.

Growing up near the ocean, Emile has always harbored an interest in marine life and their habitats . More recently his travels through Europe and Asia have raised his awareness on the human impacts on the ocean environment. He joins the Odyssey to help make a small but an important difference to the research team.
