Rebecca was invited to join the Odyssey as a member of the science team in October 1999. She holds a Bachelor of Human Ecology from College of the Atlantic where she concentrated in Marine Resources and International Environmental Law.
As Odyssey's Scientific Manager Rebecca directs the onboard science programs and oversees all aspects of collection, archival, and transportation of field data. She has specialized in biopsy darting techniques and field laboratory protocols.
Rebecca has worked in cetacean research since 1993. She has been an endangered species monitor for Coastwise Consulting, conducted shipboard and aerial surveys for New England Aquarium, National Marine Fisheries Service, National Oceanographic Atmospheric Administration, and Continental Shelf Associates.
She has worked in the north and south eastern United States, western Atlantic, Pacific, Gulf Stream, Sea of Cortez, Galapagos, and the Republic of Cape Verde, off the coast of Africa.
