Originally from Mexico, Rodrigo Olson is a trained Oceanographer from the Universdad Autonoma de Baja California where he holds a masters degree in Marine Ecology.

After completed his studies, he decided to take to the sea and has been sailing for the past 25 years, captaining yachts from differents parts of the world. During that time, he has worked on different programs filming and photographing whales and dolphins in Mexico, the Bahamas, Bay of Fundy and Nova Scotia. Also, he is a trained scuba instructor and professional lifeguard.

His interest has always been the conservation and protection of the ocean as well as marine mammals which has drawn Rodrigo to the Voyage of the Odyssey.
