Invention Application

Directions for Mission: Invention

Here is your mission: creating an invention. Encourage each group or individual to come up with an invention.

Students must complete an application so the proper amount of space can be allotted for displaying class inventions. Download application form. (PDF 71K) Requires Adobe Acrobat.

If the application is accepted, the sponsor will give the inventor a "patent" number, and the inventor will submit their "trademark." The application will only be returned if there are conflicting trademarks.

In order to showcase inventions, students must create a prototype. They must list the actual cost of creating their invention (including glue, tape, etc., even if they just used what they had at home). They must list time per person that was spent on creating the prototype, the projected resale price, the number of hours spent constructing the prototype, the purpose of the invention, and the target group (children, teenagers, adults, handicapped, etc.).
