WHALING SHIP

AIRED: Season 1, Episode 3
THE DETECTIVES: Wes Cowan and Tukufu Zuberi
THE PLACE: Charles W. Morgan Whaling Ship, Mystic, Connecticut

THE CASE:

Might a whaling ship docked in Mystic Seaport, Connecticut hold secrets to the Underground Railroad?

That is the basis for the History Detectives' investigation in this episode.

The team speaks with the grandson of the last captain of the ship, known as The Charles W. Morgan, in an effort to shed some light on the role of these kinds of ships during that period.

Does The Charles W. Morgan prove to be an integral part of the Underground Railroad, smuggling slaves out of the south?

The History Detectives are called in to find out.
