GERONIMO PHOTOGRAPH

AIRED: Season 3, Episode 1
THE DETECTIVE: Gwen Wright
THE PLACE: New Mexico

THE CASE:

One woman's heritage goes back to the 1870s, when her great-great-grandfather was Lieutenant Governor of the still-wild New Mexico territory.

A treasured keepsake from that time is a beautiful photograph of an Indian warrior on horseback.

On the back of the photo are the words: "Geronimo saluting a crowd of 100,000 people and surrounded by U.S. soldiers at Ranch 101."

For generations, the family told stories about the family ranch, but there was never any mention of Geronimo.

Could this actually be an image of the legendary Apache warrior on this family's land?

History Detectives travels to New Mexico to reveal the fascinating connections between the Lieutenant Governor, Geronimo and Ranch 101.
