There are millions of patents lodged in the U.S. Patent Office.  Some people file thousands in their lifetime.  Here we look at Patent No. 2,480,679 – the first method of cooking microwave popcorn, filed by Percy L. Spooner on August 30, 1949.  Spooner filed more than 120 patents in his lifetime but many consider this to be one of his more lasting legacies!
