To create a kosher product, the rabbi first had to determine if the ingredients were kosher. “Bread is simple—just flour, water, salt, and yeast.” he says. “Any raw flour is intrinsically kosher and doesn’t need to be certified. The closer something is to the ground, the less of a problem.” The bakery staff needed to switch suppliers of the onions that went into one bread, but those kinds of changes were simple. |
