Since Time Team America's three-day investigation at Fort James, the information gained at the dig has already helped to increase interest in the site and spur plans for further research. In a conversation with Mike Fosha, archaeologist with the state of South Dakota, he told us that a field school is scheduled at the site for 2010. He would like to accomplish a couple of things to follow up on the work we did with him for the program.

He would like to define the interior wall of the fort that separated the parade grounds from the stables as well as investigate more of the geophysical anomalies that we found in the area of the stables. The plan is also to investigate some of the features that were on the exterior of the fort.

It is nice to know that work will continue on the site and that Time Team America was able, with the help of local archaeologists and understanding landowners, to help get this project off the ground.
