mitten match scavenger huntOne of the biggest winter issues for me as a parent and teacher is cabin fever. Kids get bored being inside so much but icy conditions, freezing cold rain, or just plain nasty weather can keep kids inside and in front of a screen way too much. This is a SUPER simple game that takes almost no time to set up and you can do it indoors or outside.

What You’ll Need To Play

5 pairs of mittens for each player. I pick mine up at the dollar store and raid our front hall closet, you will need to have matching pairs.

How To Play

  • Hide one mitten of each pair.
  • Give the other mitten to the players. They should put the mittens on their left hand layering them so they have 5 layers of mittens on one hand.
  • Set a home base – somewhere like a couch where you can place all the matched pairs.
  • Ready Set Go!
  • Players must find their mittens in order – so they have to find the match to the top mitten first. When they have the pair they take both off and drop them at home base. The first to find all their pairs wins.
