Art Birthday Party
You sent the birthday party invitations 2 to 4 weeks in advance. The decorations are in place, your food is prepared, the crafts and activities are ready and the guests are on their way! Make sure things run smoothly on your little one’s big day with this suggested timeline and helpful tips.
Arrival Tip: Before guests arrive, make sure there is a designated space for coats and bags. It should be near the food buffet or game station and far enough from the door so that kids (and parents) don’t linger at drop-off time.
If you’ll be painting, make sure to cover surfaces with paper (newspaper) or towels. You might also want to have kids bring a big white shirt for painting in (as a smock) or wear clothes they don’t mind getting dirty. And washable paint never hurts!
Have a “clean up” station so kids can wash off any paint or marker on their hands before it’s time to eat. Keep the food far enough away from art supplies.
Goodbye Tip: Make sure to have extra coloring pages and craft materials around in case one or more of the parents are late picking up their kids.
