Act Out a Book
How to Play:
- Encourage the children to act out what you are reading to them or telling them.
- Get on your feet, and move your arms and legs, change your voice, get silly and bring the story to life for – and with – the children.
There are many excellent collections of poems besides the traditional Mother Goose. A Light in the Attic and Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein are both excellent choices for a wide variety of age groups – even for some older elementary school-aged siblings who want to join in the fun!
