Po acting out a book
What You'll Need
  • A story or poem

How to Play

Read a story or a poem to the children; act it out with them

  1. Encourage the children to act out what you are reading to them or telling them.
  2. Get on your feet, and move your arms and legs, change your voice, get silly and bring the story to life for – and with – the children.
There are many excellent collections of poems besides the traditional Mother Goose. A Light in the Attic and Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein are both excellent choices for a wide variety of age groups – even for some older elementary school-aged siblings who want to join in the fun!

Skills: Language, creative expression, listening
Subjects: Books and stories, performing arts, listening and speaking
