Kids love a blank canvas and you can create a whole stash of them using recycled paper bags! Learn how to make these DIY mini art books with a few simple folds and cuts.

 

Materials:

  • Large paper grocery bag
  • Scissors
  • Your favorite coloring tools

Instructions

    1. Cut out an 8 1/2" x 11 1/2" section from your paper bag.diy-mini-art-book
    2. Fold your paper in half hot dog-style, and unfold. diy-mini-art-book2
    3. Fold your paper again, this time hamburger-style, and leave it folded.diy-mini-art-book3
    4. Fold one open edge in half back toward the middle.diy-mini-art-book4
    5. Fold the other open edge back the same way.diy-mini-art-book5
    6. Unfold your paper to hamburger-style again, and cut from the folded edge to the center.diy-mini-art-book6
    7. Unfold completely to reveal the center cut, then fold in half again hot dog-style.diy-mini-art-book7
    8. Push the outer edges in together.diy-mini-art-book8
    9. Then fold the pages to create your book.diy-mini-art-book9
    10. Use your favorite crayons, paints, stickers, and any other fun art materials to decorate your mini art book!diy-mini-art-book14
