This weekend we had amazing weather so the girls and I walked around and explored nature around our home. The girls collected flowers and once back home, we set up our flower potions lab. This is a very simple and entertaining activity suitable for toddlers and preschoolers.
- sticks and/or spoons
- food coloring
- Start by filling the cups with water and adding food coloring to each one.
- Add the flowers to your cups of colored water. Help your kids get creative by pulling the petals from the flowers or sticking the stems in the water. My kids loved making little splashes and using the sticks as stirring devices.
With some simple supplies, my toddler enjoyed pouring, mixing and scooping while my preschooler was creating stories and potions at the same time.
They told stories related to each potion such as "this one will make you a princess."
