You won’t believe what these blocks are made from!

We love a good challenge in our house and making cubes out of tubes is a creative way to upcycle AND learn a little geometry in the process!

Materials:

  • Cardboard Tube
  • Clear Tape
  • Scissors
  • Duct Tape
  • Washi Tape (optional)

Instructions

    NOTE: Two cardboard tubes will yield 3 blocks

    3. Turn one tube 90 degrees and align with edge of second tube. Trace a line along rotated tube. Repeat marks with first tube then make marks on second tube.Make this fun recycled craft by turning cardboard tubes into a set of colorful toy blocks!

    5. Trim three of the sections along one folded edge.

    6. To make a cube. open up the continuous section of tube to form a square. Now wrap the open-ended section around the first square to cover the ends. Tape in place.

    7. Decorate with duct tape and washi tape as desired.Make this fun recycled craft by turning cardboard tubes into a set of colorful toy blocks!

    TIPS:

    • To trim duct tape for the cubes try this trick: Cut a long section of duct tape. Affix one end to a table edge. Cut a ½” slit in the end of the duct tape. Now pull along the slit and the tape will split into two.

    • This craft is perfect for a family of mixed ages! Older kids can make the entre craft from start to finish. Younger kids can help decorate the cubes with tape and the youngest of kids can play with the blocks!
