Making your own cards for Valentine’s Day is a smart move for your pocketbooks and a fun art project, too. With this craft, your child can gift each person in their class with a piece of original artwork from the heart: HEARTwork!

Materials:

  • pink poster paper
  • white paint
  • paintbrush
  • pen or marker
  • scissors
  • glue
  • notecards

Instructions

    1. final-longPaint the pink poster paper in an abstract way. Channel your inner Jackson Pollock and go wild with the paint! Once finished, set it aside to dry.

    2. Cut out a heart-shaped template from a piece of poster paper or from one of your blank notecards. Use the heart-shaped template to trace hearts onto your dry painting. Trace to form as many hearts as you need and then cut them out.

    3. Glue each heart to the front of a notecard. Then write a personalized message on each card. Original HEARTwork for everyone!

    Happy Valentine's Day!
