Experiment with watercolor resist techniques while making some less-than-creepy Halloween decorations.

  • rubber cement
  • watercolor paper
  • watercolors and brushes
  • pom pom balls
  • googly eyes
  • pipe cleaners

    1. web-longDraw a spider web with the rubber cement on the water color paper. Let it air out and dry for a few hours.

    2. Paint over the spider web outlines. Once everything is dry, peel off the rubber cement and you’ll see the white lines that it leaves, creating a white spider web!

    3. To make the spider, cut the pipe cleaners and bend them to form the legs. Then glue the pom pom balls to the pipe cleaner legs and add your googly eyes.

Place the spider on the web and you have a fun and colorful Halloween decoration for your house.
