Noah:

Noah’s greatest joy in life is helping others…even when he isn’t certain what help they need. Although he is motivated by the best intentions, his boundless enthusiasm, when combined with his limited understanding of Spanish, frequently gets him in a jam. However, he is resourceful and adept at extricating himself from problems he has created…often with the help of his pet mouse, Pequeño.

Coco:

Abuela’s next-door neighbor is like a little sister to Noah, who never hesitates to ask him for favors. When he doesn’t understand what she says she wants in Spanish, mayhem results. But Coco can handle it. This five-year-old has nerves of steel, whether she’s confronting a snarling lion or floating away on a bunch of balloons.

Abuela:

Although Noah's grandma is determined to teach Noah her language, her attempts to communicate with him often end in disaster. They may not speak the same language, but Noah knows he can always count on her, no matter what. She's sweet and loving, but tough enough to stare down a charging bull.

Pequeño:

Pequeño is Noah’s pet mouse, a loyal friend who often finds himself rescuing Noah. His greatest desire is to survive to eat cheese another day, which often seems unlikely given the countless ways in which Noah can get himself into trouble. Pequeño is continually frustrated by the language barrier: as a mouse, he can only squeak, making it a lot more difficult for him to keep Noah on the right path.
