I’m assuming that since it’s heated and then cooled, it is safe for food use? Does it get hot enough to release any fumes into the hair during the melting phase?

    • rachel

There was a terribly toxic smell from the melting plastic that filled our kitchen. I stopped the process after five minutes and put the bowl outside and aired out the oven.

  • Megan

I have made these with my 10 year old Autistic son. These are easy and fun. The beads are non toxic so they are food safe but the bowl will have holes in it so it won’t hold water. There was a slight smell but nothing to run you out of the house.

  • Kim Fitzhugh

Why do you grease the bowl, don’t they just pop out?
