Dragon Dance

Dragon Tales characters dancing

What You'll Need:

How to Prepare:

  1. Print the dragon dance cards that show Max, Emmy, Ord and the other Dragon Tales friends doing various dance moves.
  2. Connect to the Dragon Tunes area of the site or cue up a tape, CD or radio station.
  3. Gather children in a room where they can spread out about arms distance apart.

How to Play:

  1. Start the music and have kids warm up with their own moves.
  2. Invite children to take turns holding up the 8" x 11" pictures (printables) that show Dragon Tales characters doing dragon dance steps (e.g. touching knees, touching shoulders, jumping up and down, etc.). Encourage children to follow the action displayed on the card as they move to the music.
  3. Switch to another dragon dance card and then another. Children will have fun standing on one foot like Emmy, shaking their dragon tails like Cassie, reaching high like Zak & Wheezie, and kicking high like Max as they follow the action on these alternating dance cards.
  4. Flip through the dance cards quickly to really get kids moving and shaking!
