PBS KIDS Play
A mother and her son carving pumpkins.

While you and your child await all of the excitement that your Thanksgiving promises, talk to her about the joy she'll receive in giving back to those who aren't as fortunate. Consider helping with a food drive. Spend some time with an elderly relative or neighbor. Gather gently used clothes to donate to a shelter. These lessons in sharing, caring and compassion will benefit your child long after the turkey and trimmings are gone. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Raising a Respectful Child

Our world is richly diverse and will become even more so as our children grow. Show them why respecting themselves and others will benefit them for years to come.
