Road Trips with Screaming Babies

Last weekend I was in Las Vegas for work. Mason came with me and my friend Jess brought her 10-week-old baby girl. On Tuesday night after work we decided to go see the Hoover Dam. I have seen Hoover Dam but I was hanging out with a group of friends who never had. Someone said, "we are going to the Hoover Dam at night and we are taking two babies?"

You know we did. Sure the babies tag-team cried for about 20 miles and we all contemplated jumping out of a moving vehicle at some point of the trip. But by golly we were all "Hoover Dam or bust." All it took was getting out of the car when we arrived and the babies were happy as can be. On the way home, the babies slept. Had we given up and turned around when they first started to cry, we wouldn't have gotten this awesome picture.

I can't be the only person to have done something like this? Am I?

Becky writes...

Nope, have done stuff like this many times before. If I had the opportunity to go to Hoover Dam, even with babies in tow, I still would have done it. Babies will cry anyway. Glad you could take your baby with you and got to enjoy it!

Amber writes...

I just got home yesterday from a big trip with my 2 kids. My youngest is 1 year old, and the trip involved a 3 hour drive, just under 2 hours on the ferry, and another 45 minute drive. Both ways my youngest cried for 1.5 - 2 hours of the trip. Thankfully those days were separated by 4 nights of vacation, or I'm not sure I'd be alive to tell the tale.

I think I should have listened to the little voice that KNEW my babies are not so good in the car.

Jess's Husband writes...

Crying babies or not, I KNOW you girls had fun. =) At least our daughter looks cute with mason =) He's a good kid.. hopefully we can all get together again soon. Quinten keeps asking about ethan, nathan and "Chunk-a-saurus", and wanting to play with all of them.
