The Parent Show

Angela Santomero in New Orleans

Back From New Orleans

POSTED ON 04/19/11

You know those times in your life you will never forget?  For me, this past weekend was one of those them.  I just returned from New Orleans where I premiered The Parent Show at the Mom 2.0 conference.  I met so many amazing moms (and dads!) and I’ve come back more inspired than ever!  There are so many incredible people out there doing wonderful work for kids and other parents – I can’t wait to share their stories and ideas with parents everywhere.

Connecting with parents and sharing information is a passion of mine.  I spent my career studying children and creating shows for kids and parents.  I focused on “hiding” the curriculum and am so excited to finally have a forum to talk about it with parents!  I want to spark conversations about what makes good content, how our kids learn from everything and share tips & tricks for parenting.

I’ve always believed that I had a responsibility to kids and parents when creating my shows.  But now that I’m a mom?  Now I feel that even more and want to use my background to get the information we all need. Kids are my passion. And doing my part to help parents everywhere raise happy, healthy, safe and smart kids is my mission. I’m so happy to have the show out in the world, but I can’t wait to hear your ideas for how we can make it work for you!

Thank you Matt Graham for your vision, support, dedication and friendship, and thank you to Jeannine Harvey for your wonderful, enthusiasm & Christine Montgomery and PBS Parents for this opportunity.

Please add to this list — Superhero Healthy Henry Discovers Planet
Earth, by Angela B. Lamb. In this book, you will introduce your child to
a healthy living role model and superhero!
Superhero Healthy Henry, in a fun and clear way, shows his unhealthy
Earth friend Dan why it is important to eat nutritious food and
exercise. As a result, Dan becomes much healthier and helps others do
the same. It promotes the importance of eating “real food” that comes
from nature and avoiding excessive amounts of junk food, fast food and
processed food. Includes fun, kid friendly jokes as a bonus. Healthy
habits begin early. This book encourages children to be on the right
    path to life long health.
