As informative as it is, our generation’s media coverage brings it all to us at lightening speed. Perhaps more coverage than we need to be exposed to. But what about our kids’ exposure? How are they processing the often disturbing talk and visuals that are honestly hard for even us to make sense of? And how do we even begin to discuss these issues with them when they raise the inevitable questions?
I sat down with my graduate school adviser, Dr. Rosemarie Truglio, who is presently the VP of Research and Education at Sesame Workshop to open up this discussion.
