Interview

Filmmaker Jesse Epstein talks about her short film, 34x25x36, which goes inside a mannequin factory to look at how to create an "ideal" of a woman's body — in plastic. Epstein talks about body image in our culture, and whether we really need to have an idea of the "perfect" body.

Talk About This

Very nice documentary, thank you. However, from the interview with maker Jesse Epstein, i sense she has not seen the episode "More Human than Human" of Nigel Spivey's series "How Art Made the World" (See http://www.pbs.org/howartmadetheworld/episodes/human/), where he especially addresses this sculpting of better-than-nature subjects, in depth.
